What to Expect

Services

Service times are every Sunday beginning with Biblical and Theological Studies starting at 9:45 a.m.  Worship Service begins at 11:00 a.m. with a Call to Worship - the public reading of Scripture followed by singing Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs followed by the expository preaching of the Word of God and prayer.  We observe the Lord's Supper every Sunday after preaching and close our service with singing.

Family Integration

Services at Word of Grace are family integrated, meaning that we encourage parents to keep their children with them during the worship service.  A nursery is available for nursing mothers.  We do not provide a "staff" for childcare.

Dress

You will see a range of appropriate casual attire.

Bible Versions

Our congregants carry a variety of Bible versions. Having a high view of the plenary inspiration of the original texts, we encourage formal equivalent translations that ensure the meaning of each word is conveyed in the English.  Examples include but are not limited to the NASB, ESV, NKJV, and KJV.   For the public reading and preaching of Scripture we rotate between the NASB and ESV due to their commitment to word-for-word precision.

Instruments and Singing

Our praise team consists of keyboards, acoustic guitars, a bass guitar, and vocals.  The praise team does not serve to perform, but rather lead in congregational singing.  We sing Psalms, hymns, and vetted contemporary songs.

Sunday School

We have an adult Biblical and Theological Studies class starting at 9:45 a.m. and a children's class at the same time.  The children's class is approximately ages 6 - 10 or whenever they're ready to move in or out.

BECOMING PART OF OUR FAMILY

The membership of this church consists of those who have given a credible confession of faith in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior and have been baptized upon that profession. Any person demonstrating, by life and word, repentance toward God, faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, and growth in the fruit of the Spirit; who has been subsequently baptized; and who expresses substantial and non-divisive agreement with the doctrines, covenant, aims, and government of this church are eligible for membership.
